A rotating showcase of local creativity

We are proud to showcase a rotating selection of beautiful work by two local painters and a local writer. Their art is displayed throughout the practice and the books are available in the waiting room,  creating a calm, welcoming space and celebrating the creativity of our local community. The collection changes periodically, offering patients something new to discover while supporting independent artists

    Sue Ruscoe

Born in Hampstead, North London, I began my career as a riding instructor before pursuing my passion for art. I later worked as an interior designer, but much of my inspiration came from India, a country I fell in love with for its vibrant, magnificent colours.

Now retired and living near Norwich, I devote my time to my artwork, often inspired by visits to our beautiful coast with my dog and paints in tow. I am particularly drawn to abstract works that capture the changing moods and colours of the seasons

    Kathryn Simmonds

Kathryn Simmonds is a poet and the author of children’s picture books. Her upcoming titles, both Princes Don’t Practise—the tale of Prince Lupin, who learns that even princes need to practise—and Twenty Bears on Holiday, will be published in 2026.

Kathryn has written across many forms: stories for radio, quiz machine questions, poetry collections, sketch comedy, a novel, and now, at long last, picture books.

Her debut children’s book, Be My Sunflower (Walker), illustrated by Rosalind Beardshaw, tells the moving story of Vernon—a seed who is perfectly happy in his packet and reluctant to grow into anything at all. Her second picture book, Trouble at the Bug Hotel (also Walker), is a hilarious tale starring Branwell, a solitary bee, set in a bug hotel, brought to life with vintage-style illustrations by Tor Freeman.

Bloomsbury called her next book, Twenty Bears, “the funniest counting book of the year.” Its sequel will also be published in 2026. Both books are illustrated by Alison Brown, known for I Love You Night and Day.

Kathryn lives with her husband—also a writer—in a house that probably contains too many books. She loves the beach, though she’s wary of seagulls, and finds that life, as ever, can be delightfully unpredictable

    Angela Lloret Blackburn

Born in Barcelona, Angela was raised in a family of artists, her love of art and nature deeply ingrained from an early age.

It was her English grandmother, an accomplished artist and lover of Impressionism, who taught her the magic of painting with oils.

After 20 years as a West End florist, Angela felt the call of the coast and moved to Norfolk.

Now, she is spoiled for choice with stunning coastal and country landscapes that inspire her work
